Today's update...

Kromlech Historical has been added to the Directory today.

They are a Polish outfit who have been around for a few years now, making Sci-Fi type stuff. They have now made the move into historical figures, beginning with WW2. Their first figures are, appropriately, Polish troops!

Elite update...

Elite Wargames And Models have now got a shiny new website up and running. If you're looking for something a bit different, they do quite a range of female figures such as this Napoleonic era cantiniere…

Pirans Warriors

Pirans Warriors has been added to the Directory.

Primarily a painting service, they also produce a small range of 1859 Austrians suitable for the Franco-Austrian War.

I believe this range originally belonged to Heroes Of The Dark Age, and has been taken over by Pirans Warriors.

Manufacturer added

Lurkio has been added to the Manufacturers Directory.

Although primarily a 15mm manufacturer, Lurkio also have a range of 28mm figures covering the Mogul Empire.

The Moguls were the dominant force in India from the 16th to 18th Centuries. It's not really my area, but the figures appear to be usable for quite a wide date range. I've listed them for all three centuries just to be on the safe side!

Lurkio has recently changed hands, and one of the results of this is a shiny new website! So go and have a little look!

Found another....

Well, I've managed to find another manufacturer!

Gaddis Gaming have been added to the Directory. Based in the USA, they make surprisingly comprehensive ranges for both WW1 and WW2.

I don't know much else about them so I'll just add a piccy...

New manufacturer...

Today I've added Elladan to the Directory.

This appears to be a small outfit based in Germany which till recently focused on making some lovely looking terrain and buildings. They also make various fantasy-type figures.

Their historical range, at the moment, consists of just Medieval Scottish figures. There is a very 'Braveheart' vibe to them, including one that is the spit of Mad Mel, so they may not appeal to purists!

However, they do have an intriguing appeal!

Wee Wolf Miniatures

Some time ago Footsore Miniatures sold their Great Northern War and Franco-Prussian War ranges to (what I believe is) a new outfit called Wee Wolf Miniatures .

For a while Wee Wolf only had an online presence via facebook. But they have now launched their own website here .

In addition to the two lines mentioned above, they also have a range of World War One Russians.

The Directory has now been updated...

New range from Steve Barber Models...

Steve Barber Models have released a new range of figures for the Thirty Years War. I have updated the Directory to reflect this.

I haven't seen any of their figures 'in the metal' but they look very nice in the photos...

Today's update...

After a busy summer I've finally found a bit of time for an update!

Antediluvian Miniatures is a manufacturer of fantasy/pulp explorer type figures that has now expanded into historicals.

Their first line is medieval. I believe that these figures are the old Scots/Irish ranges previously sold by Claymore Miniatures. Claymore themselves appear to be continuing with their 100 Years War/14th Century lines.

Anyway, have a nice piccy from the Antediluvian website...

New Vikings

Acheson Creations have released a new range of Vikings.

As well as the usual spearmen and so on, interestingly they also have figures for traders and boatbuilders. As my old grandad used to say, variety is the spice of life, so this range looks like a welcome addition to the many Viking figures already available!

1866 Miniatures

1866 Miniatures have been added to the Manufacturers Directory.

They produce a growing range of figures for the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. Bit of a clue in the name...

Anyway. They don't seem to have a website yet, and distribution is being handled by Company D in Britain and Badger Games in the US.

Napoleonic Badeners

Murawski Miniatures have launched some new Napoleonic figures. They are for the rather unrepresented Grand Duchy of Baden and considerably increase the options for anyone wishing to field this army!

Quick update...

Just to note a quick update today. Crusader Miniatures have released some WW2 Eastern Front partisans. I have modified the WW2 page listings to reflect this.

Some of the figures look like they could be put to a whole load of uses!

Commissar Miniatures have been added to the directory today.

Another Russian maker, they seem to be available through Toy Armies. Ranges include Napoleonic Russian and British figures, Vikings, and Medieval Russians.

Today's update...

When your website is your shop window it is important to make it easy to see what you sell and for customers to easily navigate their way around. Sounds obvious doesn't it? So why do so many companies get seduced by confusing flashy layout and graphics?

Today's example is Gripping Beast . Sorry guys, I love your products but the website layout is a pain to navigate!

Hidden away under the 'other' menu is a range that I didn't know existed! And I've done the research. Look around this blog!

So I've now added the MoFo Modern Forces range. This consists of figures for the Falklands War, as well as some more generic Mercenaries, African Militia, and some 1990s US Rangers and Delta Force.

Spectre Miniatures

Spectre Miniatures have been added to the Directory today.

Yet another outfit based in Nottingham, they produce a range of 21st Century troops, special forces, insurgents, and the like. They also have a range of vehicles which are scaled to 1/50, and a set of rules.

Warhansa Miniatures

Warhansa Miniatures have been added to the Directory.

In 28mm they do modern 'adventure' type figures, gladiators, and a nice looking Dark Ages range.

Leonid Miniatures

Leonid is another enigma. There is a small range of medieval and WW1 figures on the Siberia Miniatures website listed as Leonid. This appears to be the only place they can be sourced.

Is Leonid a person, maybe a mate of Siberia? Or a small startup outsourcing their distribution? Who knows! Anyway, have a picture...

News roundup...

A quick 'news roundup' post today to catch up on a couple of developments over the last week or two.

So first off, Black Hat Miniatures have announced that they are selling their 25/28mm ranges to a slightly enigmatic 'other company'. They promise more details to follow on who this new owner is!

Crann Tara Miniatures have revealed a rather spiffing redesigned website. So much easier to spend your money with them now!

And Great Escape Games have released the first figures in their new WW2 Hungarian range. These should complement their recent Romanian range rather nicely...

Avanpost added to Directory

Avanpost has been added to the Manufacturers Directory.

From Russia, which seems to be a hotbed of new 28mm figure companies at the moment, Avanpost make ranges for the Thirty Years War and the Napoleonic Wars. Both metal and resin figures are available, and look pretty stunning in the photos!

New WW2 Romanian range

Tsuba Miniatures have announced the first in a new range of Romanian figures for WW2. Excellent news for anyone interested in the Eastern Front, as this army is very under-represented by 28mm figures.

Tuesday 23 January 2018

Company D Miniatures

Company D Miniatures , not to be confused with Company B , has been added to the Manufacturers Directory.

Focusing mainly on the American Civil War, they also produce a few medieval figures suitable for the Hundred Years War period.

Tuesday 16 January 2018

News!

Well, not particularly new news, but better late than never!

Elite Wargames And Models have released their first WW2 range. These consist of Luftwaffe Flak crew and female resistance figures. There is also talk of their website being up and running soon!

I shall say zees only wance....

Monday 15 January 2018

Conqueror Models

Conqueror Models has been added to the directory.

Based in Wiltshire UK, they have been around for a couple of years now. Among other stuff, they make a couple of small 28mm historical ranges for the Indian Mutiny and the Napoleonic period.

Tuesday 9 January 2018

Heer 46

Heer 46 has been added to the directory.

Based in Germany, they have a small but interesting range of WW2 figures, guns, and vehicles. The focus is very much Eastern Front, most of the range being of German subjects plus a few Soviets.

Monday 8 January 2018

Stand To Games

Stand To Games has now been added to the Directory,

A new company formed in 2017, at the moment they produce a small line of British, French, and Spanish Napoleonic figures. The poses are particularly suitable for skirmish gaming, and obviously intended to complement Stand To's own skirmish ruleset called Forager.
